About PIROX

Pittsburgh Iron Oxides, LLC (PIROX) is a synthetic iron oxide manufacturer that uses novel patent-pending technology developed by Pittsburgh Mineral & Environmental Technology, Inc. (PMET), a founding member of PIROX and the operating partner.

Inspired by an unmet market need for a domestic source of synthetic iron oxide, PMET began to develop a novel process by which high purity iron oxides could be manufactured.  After several years of development from concept through bench-scale testing and pilot plant testing, a process emerged capable of manufacturing >99.5% purity magnetite (Fe3O4).
